Bali Trip "Day 1 Itinerary" (Babi Guling Chandra, Gusto Gelato & Tip n Tricks)

Hi again!!

2 weeks ago I just came back from my holiday..
I'm still in holiday mood now!!!
I went to Bali - Singapore - Jakarta.
The main purpose of my holiday is to attend my best friend wedding in bali..

Accomodation 
I stayed in Bali for 7 days and 6 night. From 13-19 July.
And stayed in 3 different hotel and location..
13-15 July : Ibis Style Petitenget (strategic location, close to everywhere, included breakfast)
15-17 July : Mercure Nusa Dua (the worst hotel ever)
17-19 July : Watermark Hotel Jimbaran (love this hotel, the staff is nice, the room is nice, only a bit far)

Tip & Tricks: I search the hotel price to hotel combines cause it tell you the price from different website and I found out Agoda is the cheapest (but still double check those other website), and sometimes Agoda have 5-10% voucher discount code that you can use in today deals.. And before book through website, check as well the price through mobile apps, sometimes mobile apps have different offer and can get cheaper price than in the website (i got cheaper price when I book hotel in Jakarta)


Transportation
I rent a car+driver+petrol (all in) is IDR 350k for 12 hour (around AUD 3.5).
Extra hour is IDR 35k/hr
Half day (because i arrive around 4-5pm) i just need to pay 250k.
I got this contact number from my friend.
The tour name is Teratai Tour Travel (Bali Wayan) : +6285792629544
He have few drivers, so the driver can be always same, but can be different as well.
I book the driver through WhatsApp, and I just need to pay deposit 200k to his bank account.
And the rest of the money I just pay after I finish my trip or a day before I finish my trip (transfer to the bank again).

Note:
- ask for good driver who know places and can speak english. (Bli Made - recommended)
- the first 3 days, I got a new driver that don't know any places and I need to use google maps, and he took a wrong way and go around and around and end up 2 hr in the road, is suppose to be 1 hr. After that I asked for changing driver. The new driver that don't know places was nice, but I'm in holiday and I don't know about Bali, so I want the driver that know about places and not asked me about map and how to get there. (Bli Kadex - NOT recommended)    

Money Changer
after i did research from tripadvisor, blog, etc. Is better to change the money in Bali than in Sydney or in airport, cause in Bali money changer you get better rate, just bring AUD50 / AUD100 note to bali, and find a good money changer to change it.

The Story
So my flight from Sydney to Bali is at 10.15am and I arrive in Bali is at 15.10pm.
But I got out from airport around 5pm.. Yes.. took 2 hr for the immigration.. Super long queue.. :'(
Then the driver pick me up and went directly to the hotel.. and it took 2 hr because of the traffic jam.
I arrive around 7pm and the do check in..

We went out for dinner, firstly I want to try Bu Dayu, but the driver said that Bu Dayu is near airport, so he took us to another Babi Guling place called Babi Guling Candra.

The place don't have any menu, they only sell two item : pork and chicken.

After I eat to different place of babi guling, I just found out Babi Guling Chandra is quite expensive compare to the others and the taste is just alright. The chilli was so spicy which is good, just be careful don't mix it with rice if you can't handle spicy.
Oh I ordered Sweet Ice Tea and Ice Tea (@13k) plus pork crackling (@40k/pack)

After we had dinner, we went to Gusto Gelato.
People said Gusto is quite famous in bali..

I ordered small - IDR 22k, you can choose 2 flavour. I choose Straciatella and Crunchy mascarpone. I don't like the gelato cause I can't really taste the flavour except taste sweet..

 Deconstructed Chocolate Lava Gelato (AUD 8 - N2Black)

If you follow or passing by my instagram (@gabriellaharianto), I bet you ard saw this picture and the video.. This gelato very soft and smooth, the taste very rich of chocolate.. Inside the injection is chocolate ganache I think.. Overall taste good, but I suggest to share it when eating this gelato..

Lin Artisan Ice Cream

Lin Artisan ini lagi happening karena membawa konsep baru dalam mengolah ice cream yang belum pernah ada sebelumnya di Jakarta, yaitu dengan menggunakan liquid nitrogen.. Jadi begitu kita order, mereka baru membuat ice cream nya.. Proses pembuatannya cukup cepat..

Menu

Disini ada dua macem ice cream, yaitu Gelato (contain milk + cream) dan Sorbet (raw pure ingredients)

Yang warna merah di measurement jug itu ingredients buat sorbet, nanti tinggal di whisk pake mixer with liquid nitrogen.. Klo yg di stainless bowl itu ingredients yang buat gelato.. Kalo mau liat video buat sorbet nya ada di instagram gw.. You can check my instagram @gabriellaharianto :)

Merry Berry (39k), gw pesen yang sorbet.. Ini kayak dari pure strawberry yang di blended with sugar.. Rasanya mirip kayak juice strawberry.. Taste good.. Not too sour or too sweet.. Oya ini gampang melted..

Anw just for info.. karena pake liquid nitrogen, proses pembuatannya jadi cepat, sehingga kristal es nya pun kecil dan ice cream nya lebih smooth gitu..

Caffe Bene

Gw agak penasaran sama caffe bene karena ini franchise dari Korea.. Pas uda buka di Lotte Avenue, gw ajak my lil sis ksini.. 

 Sebelum cobain ini, kita abis makan di Johnny Rocket, jadi kita cuma pesen satu untuk share..

Green Tea Bingsu (60k)

Ini isinya ada red bean, walnut, almond, green tea ice cream, whipped cream sama green tea shaved ice.. Pertama gw kira ini porsi nya kecil, ternyata gede.. Bisa untuk share 2-3 orang.. Gw suka sama ice cream green tea nya, smooth and beda dari ice cream green tea biasanya.. Kalo shaved ice nya agak kasar.. Overall rasanya lumayan enak.. :)

Last day... Day 9 will going back with morning flight..

We had breakfast (dim sum) at Jiang Shun, 25th Floor, iSquare.. Too bad I'm too lazy to take the picture at that time.. Anw.. The food just taste okay, nothing special, quite expensive.. But the view from the restaurant really pretty, we sit near the window..

After had our breakfast, we walk around iSquare, then move to Harbour City.. Then passing by this gelato stall named Venchi..

Hazelnut (HKD 33), I like this hazelnut ice cream.. taste really good... Yumm..

Then we went to Laduree.. There is a new flavor at Laduree Hong Kong, iced mint, venezuela chocolate, and coconut.. I just try the iced mint for the new flavor and marshmallow chocolate coconut.. I like both.. Macarons in laduree is the best...

After finish eating, we went to Langham Place, bought some stuff at H&M..

Then meet my cousin at Times Square (use MTR Causeway Bay) and bought some snack at the supermarket..

Matcha Custard (HKD 15)

I like this.. Taste good.. I love matcha.. I like the custard..

Softcream Cup Waffle Combo with Warabimochi & Hokkaido Red Bean (HKD 40), this ice cream matcha also taste good.. I like the mochi and the red bean.. But unfortunately, there is no cup to hold the waffle..

While waiting for my aunty to pick us to the dinner place, we feeling tired and hungry because we haven't had our lunch yet, so we decide to have a quick late lunch and early dinner at Toast Box..

My aunty came at the right time, we just finish eating our meals.. Then we took bus and walk to the dinner place.. My other uncle treat us for the dinner at Asiana Restaurant, Wan Chai.. Anw I didn't take the picture of the food and I feel lucky that I eat before because I can't eat the food in here, too many pork with skin and fat, etc.. Not my kind of food... :'(

Kyoto Delight (SGD 8.22)

This is green tea ice cream, two kind of mochi, adzuki, corn flake, and vanilla sponge.. I like the green tea ice cream.. I just don't like in the bottom there is something sauce or what, but the taste is very sweet for my liking..

Choco Banana Split (SGD 8.22), this is choco ice cream, vanilla ice cream, pudding, banana, and corn flakes.. My friends like this more than the kyoto delight..

Yey.. lunch date with my friend.. We tried set lunch menu 2 course (128k++)

There are 3 choices for the starter, I choose Crunchy Creamy Cheese Wrap with Green Salad.. I like the crunchy creamy cheese wrap, its like samosa but with creamy cheese filling.. but I don't like the salad, because the taste of the salad dressing is bland.. >.<

There are 4 choices for the main course, I choose Crispy Skin Barramundi with beurre blanc sauce and mashed potato.. I like the mashed potato, very soft and velvety.. Yummy.. The fish also not smell fishy.. I think the foam is beurre blanc foam, but I'm not sure, the taste is a bit sweet etc.. 

There are 3 choices for drink (mineral water, hot/ice tea, and café)

Dark Varlhona Chocolate Tart (60k)

The sugar dough taste goodand crisp, the chocolate taste good but i think its not really set yet, because more like liquid.. The ice cream taste lovely with real vanilla bean.. Yummy..

Homemade Lemonade (30k), just taste okay..

Mushroom Soup with Truffle Oil (60k), this is my friend's food, he don't really like the first one because the truffle oil taste too strong, but then the chef change it with truffle oil on the side, and he like it..

Got this from garcon.. cute..

its macaron.. the white one taste better than the black one..

Will coming here again to try the food..
