MakMak Macarons

Hi guys… 

I'm back to post again… It's been a while I abandon this blog.. I saw my last post is last year.. 

It is because I'm so busy.. I feel 24 hour a day is not enough…

I have school, assignment, exam next week, working, and practicing for competition that will be held next month really take all my time.. :(

Super tired.. Leaving home in the morning, going back home late night.. 

I feel I don't have enough sleep.. always feel sleepy..

Okay.. enough about my recent activities.. Now talk about this small macarons shop that won the best macarons in timeout sydney magazine beating zumbo and laduree.. Cool, huh?!?

Macarons (AUD 3.2/each - AUD 15/box of 5 - AUD 34/box of 12)

Top left - right..
Banana, Macadamia & Coffee : taste good, have a hint taste of banana and got macadamia nut inside.
Bellini (Peach & Prosecco) : just okay..
Nectarine, Raspberry & Vanilla : taste sweet, got raspberry jelly inside..
Salted Caramel : taste good.. My favorite..
Bottom : Smoked Vanilla & Pecan Praline : My second favorite..

The macarons shell are crisp outside, soft inside, and thinner than zumbo macarons, baroque, or laduree..

I bought their macarons several times because I wanna to try all the flavor they have..

Number 2 from the top is Peanut Butter : I like the peanut butter, its belgian milk chocolate ganache with peanut butter in the middle..

Left - right :
Gianduja : It's dark chocolate with hazelnut in the middle..
Raspberry & Dark Chocolate : Just taste so-so, have a bit of sour taste because of the raspberry jelly..
Mocha : the taste of the coffee is stronger..

Number 2 from the right is Raspberry, but I forgot the taste because it's been too long I ate that flavor..

Green Tea Latte : I love the green tea latte.. Really taste green tea and don't have like parfume fragrance like green tea in Jakarta..
Black Sesame : the shell is quite hard, like biscuit, I'm not a fans of this flavor, but if you like black sesame, you can try this.. Many people like this..
Passion Fruit, Mango & Cherry Jelly: taste sweet, got raspberry jelly inside..
Passionfruit, Orange, & Lemon Myrtle : mediocre.. I don't really like this flavor, can't taste the passionfruit, the taste of lemon is much stronger..
Blood Orange, Gin & Tonic : taste good, but I never try the real gin & tonic so I don't know what the gin & tonic flavor suppose to be.. But I like this.. Got jelly inside..

Extra Virgin Oil, Lemon : My second favorite..
Rose & Rhubarb : I like this, rose ganache with rhubarb jelly in the middle.. The taste not too sweet..
Bounty : I like this, milk chocolate ganache with coconut ice in the middle, I really like the flavor of the coconut.. Love it..
Strawberry Shortcake : I don't like this flavor, one side of the macarons too dry and become crunchy like a biscuit.. :(

Anw.. Isn't their macarons too pretty?? Haigh's Chocolate

Creme Brulee truffle (AUD 12.60 per 100gr)

each truffle around 15 grams.. This creme brulee truffle really really taste good.. The chocolate is crisp outside.. the filling really soft and smooth.. love it..

Banana Caramel (AUD 12.20 per 100gr)

Pardon me for the blur picture.. But this is the only one picture I have.. Anw the banana caramel taste good, but I prefer creme brulee..

The Famous Deep Fried Mars Bar at Bondi Beach

This sunday I went to Bondi Beach my classmate.. We want to try the fried mars bar.. One of my friend already tried it and she says the fried mars bar really taste good..

 Bondi Surf Seafoods is the only place that selling Fried Mars Bar..

Fried Mars Bar (AUD 4)

This is the inside.. They fried the mars bar when we ordered it.. So the mars bar still very hot.. Anw.. the melted ooey gooey mars bar really taste good.. Like it..

Menya Noodle Bar - Emperor's Cream Puff

Karami Ramen / Chili Pork Mince (AUD 14.30), the broth is from soyu base and a bit thick.. This is not too spicy, even it is look very spicy.. I like it, very tasty, like the noodle too..

From Menya, we went to china town.. my friend's bf said that there is a yummy cream puff in china town, named Emperor's Cream Puff.. He says usually people queueing to buy that..

 

Cream Puff (AUD 0.30 - each), for me, this cream puff taste very ordinary, nothing special.. But because at that time the weather very cold, eating hot snack like this quite good.. Anw there is custard inside the puff.. This is freshly bake and really hot, be careful when you eat it..

Tanggal 12-15 September ada event Jakarta Culinary Passport di Grand Indonesia.. Gw dateng nya sih pas hari terakhir doank.. Idk harusnya ada entrance fee or not, tp pas hari terakhir ga ada entrance fee..

Gw beli Es Cincau Hijau (10k), ini oke sih, cuma kebanyakan dikasi gulanya , jadi kemanisan..

Rendang Rawit (25k), ini pedes banget banget menurut gw.. Rasanya asin pedes gitu..

Puyo nya baru buka jam satu siang.. and pas buka langsung ngantri panjang.. karena penasaran, gw ikutan ngantri deh..

Puyo (9k - each), ini tu silky pudding.. Purple : Taro, Orange : Peach, Yellow : Banana, Green : Green Tea, Light Brown : Hazelnut.. Ini puddingnya lembut gitu, tapi biasa aja menurut gw, gw paling suka rasa peach, paling ga suka rasa taro karena ada rasa asinnya..

Ini juga siang bukanya, pas buka langsung pada ngantri, tapi antriannya ga sebanyak puyo..

Milky Way (18k - each), ini ada 4 flavor, chocolate, green tea, original, and strawberry.. Gw cuma beli yang chocolate and green tea.. Ini too sweet menurut gw karena karamelnya, tapi klo puddingnya doank sih enak, lembut gt..  gw lbi suka yg coklat drpd yg green tea..

Dairy Tale 

Original - Oreo (25k) - Nutella - Green Tea - Peanut Butter (28k)

Nutella Cake (28k), ini smooth and rich, tapi kurang berasa nutella nya.. too sweet for my liking, tapi enak sih..

Tauge Goreng (17.5k), ini enak.. gw suka.. isinya tu toge, mi kuning, kentang, tomat, tahu, oncom kalo  ga salah..

Kerak Telor (25k), gw si ga suka kerak telor, menurut gw ga enak... yang ini berasa serundeng nya.. 

Tahu Gejrot (12k), ini oke sih, cuma bumbu nya kurang mantep..

Onigiri Futago

 Salmon (15k), onigirinya enak.. salmon nya asin-asin gitu.. =9

Sweetened Raw Almond Milk (25k), ini yang sweetened katanya manisnya pake kurma, menurut gw rasanya biasa aja, gw pribadi kurang suka, rasanya hampir kayak hambar gitu, ga gitu manis jg.. Anw ini ada beberapa rasa, yaitu original - 20k, coconut cinnamon - 30k, matcha and chocolate - 35k, gw da cobain tester yg matcha, chocolate, sama original, tp gw kurang suka, paling mending yang sweetened, jadi beli yg ini deh..

Mortal & Pestle

 Ini tu kayak makanan korea n jepang gt..

Kimchi Noodle (20k), ini biasa aja, super dry mi nya, kurang enak.. lebih enakan indomie biasa x, terus kimchinya dikit bgt n kurang berasa..

 Ra-Man (25k), yg ini juga biasa aja.. :(

 Yakitori

Salmon (20k), Prawn (20k), Wagyu (20k), C Ball (10k), udang sama ball nya enakk.. bumbu nya juga enakkk... Kalo yg salmon oke sih, cm masih ada kulitnya and yg pas gw pnya ada tulangnya dikit..  Overall ini taste good.. Ngantrinya lama lagi buat beli ini..

Rice (5k)

Overall event ini cukup menarik dan menyenangkan karena banyak macem makanan..

Anw.. buat yg ga sempet kesini and penasaran sama makanannya, ada beberapa makanan (puyo, milky way, origanicrush, onigiri futaro, yakitori a.k.a karokun_id, etc) bisa di pesen online, coba search aja namanya di instagram..
